Beach Tennis tournament
On Sunday, May 25, we are organizing a student Beach Tennis tournament at Sports Park Nijlân. From 12 noon to 1 pm, you can tune in, and there will be game instructions. The tournament will start at 13:00.
The tournament is for people with and without experience! Register now with your duo partner for €15. We provide beach tennis rackets and balls!
What is Beach Tennis?
Beach Tennis is a fast and dynamic sport played mainly in doubles. It is similar to tennis, but the ball is not allowed to bounce, making for an intense and athletic game.
The sport is played on a 16-by-8-meter sand court (similar to beach volleyball), with a net 1.7 meters high.
Players use sturdy paddle rackets without strings, suitable for all ages and levels. A soft Stage 2 orange ball is played with, which is slower than a regular tennis ball, making the game more attractive.
A point is scored when the opponent does not return the ball properly, strikes the ball out, serves incorrectly, or hits the net.
