Curling is a dynamic sport that involves much more than meets the eye. It is an activity in which cooperation and communication are as important as the individual skills of aiming, sliding, and sweeping. The greatest challenge lies in combining the skills needed to play the sport well: precision and control, a sense of direction, good balance, strategic insight, and team spirit.
In curling, two teams of four players each compete against each other. The goal is to play a stone weighing about 20 kilograms from one side of the ice, the sheet, to the other side in the house, the target area. Teams alternate playing a stone to the other side of the ice. The team with the most stones closest to the center of the house wins the round.
For students interested in trying out curling, the sports pass offers a reduced membership fee for a season of €110 instead of €125.
There are also options such as a 3-stripe card for €40,- or a 5-stripe card for €60,-, both with a Student Sports Card. If one decides to become a member after the stripe card has been used, the amount will be deducted from the membership.
Materials are not needed immediately for new players, as they are available at the curling club. All that is needed is sporty clothing, such as comfortable pants and clean flat shoes without heels, preferably athletic shoes.
Discover the world of curling and be amazed by this unique and strategic sport!
